Following Trump’s announcement of the termination of DACA, YPRC planned an emergency march and rally to stand in solidarity with those affected by the decision. We called for our community to stand up, be brave, and fight for the legalization of ALL immigrants. We marched to show our south side community that we were not afraid – ¡SIN PAPELES, SIN MIEDO! We have the power to fight back! We wanted to prove to ourselves and our neighbors that we are force for justice in this city and in this country!
Dacamented folks are now in a period of uncertainty and injustice, but those completely without papers have been suffering this way for decades. We must fight for the safety and liberation of all 11 million undocumented people!
The south side Milwaukee community clearly agreed with us – we had over 5,000 people marching with us in the streets to defend DACA and support the millions of hardworking immigrants living in the United States.
